All property owners with a tax bill are eligible to make payments using this method.
Travis County does not charge a fee for ACH payments. Prior to making a payment, contact your bank to determine the correct payment type and applicable fees.
The deadline to pay your taxes is January 31 of each year. Payments made after this date are subject to penalties and interest.
Login to your bank’s bill pay service. Before using your bank’s online bill pay service, please check the Terms of Service. Many banks discourage or restrict using their bill pay systems for government tax payments and will not be responsible for any errors, delays, or lost payments that may result in late penalties.
Include your property tax account number or billing number with the payment. This allows the Tax Office to apply the payment to the correct account.
Provide your bank with the Travis County payee information:
Payee Name: Travis County Tax Office
Address: P.O. Box 149328, Austin, TX 78714-9328
Schedule the payment and allow enough time for Travis County to receive the funds by the January 31 deadline. The date your payment is created by the bank, or the funds are removed from your account, cannot be used as the payment date. If the bank sends a check instead of an electronic payment, the envelope needs a qualifying postmark no later than January 31 to avoid penalty and interest.
