All property owners with a current tax bill are eligible to make payments using this method.
Payments through automatic withdrawal and in-person payments by cash or check have no fees. All other payment methods have a cost depending on the payment method.
Pre-payments are applied before your tax bill is mailed. Bills are mailed in October (or November if there is a tax rate election). Your bill will reflect the balance due.
Make sure all prior year property taxes are paid. You cannot begin making prepayments if you still owe taxes from a previous year.
Choose how you want to prepay. You can set up an automatic monthly withdrawal from your bank account or make in-person or online prepayments whenever you choose.
Request an automatic withdrawal contract and an estimate of your proposed monthly payments by email.
Contact your bank to locate the bank account number and routing number used for ACH withdrawals from your account. If you are signing the contract for a full year, your first withdrawal will be in December before the tax year begins and the final withdrawal will be the following September. You can begin the contract after December, but this will result in a higher monthly payment.
Authorization allows Travis County to automatically withdraw the prepayment from your checking or savings account on the 5th of each month.
After your prepayment is applied to your tax account:
When your prepayment is applied to your account, we will send a new contract for next year. Complete and return the contract to continue prepaying. Your first withdrawal will be scheduled for December.
